Ozempic could reduce diabetes-linked liver cirrhosis risk: Study

GLP1 agonists like Ozempic reduce blood sugar levels and are mainly used to treat Type 2 diabetes. The drug also reduces appetite and treats obesity. However, according to a new decade-long study published in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine, GLP-1 medicines like Ozempic can curb the progression of fatty liver disease to deadly liver cirrhosis.
