Packaged drinking water classified under 'High-Risk Food' category by FSSAI

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has classified packaged drinking water and mineral water under its 'High-Risk Food' category. This comes after the government's decision to remove the mandatory condition of obtaining a Bureau of Indian Standards certification for these products. With this, the product's manufacturers will now undergo risk-based inspections once a year.
