Packaged food & drinks will be awash in red if India adopts red flags: Industry body head

Ind Food and Beverage Association's (IFBA) Chairperson Deepak Jolly was among experts who opposed FSSAI's plans to put red flags for high sugar/fat content. According to industry estimates, nearly 80% of packaged food and drinks in India have high fat, sugar and salt content. That means packaging would be awash in red if colour-coded warnings were adopted, Jolly told FSSAI.
