Padil-Subrahmanya rail route sees 16.38 lakh passenger rush

The Padil-Subrahmanya rail route in Dakshina Kannada handled 16.38 lakh passengers and generated ₹31.31 crore in passenger revenue between January 2025 and August 2026. Subrahmanya Road recorded the highest traffic with 8.05 lakh passengers, followed by Kabaka Puttur and Bantwal. Railway users have urged the Railways to improve infrastructure and introduce more local and MEMU services.
