Padmanabhaswamy Temple performs rare 'Maha Kumbhabhishekam' after 270 yrs

A Maha Kumbhabhishekam ceremony was held at Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Kerala on Sunday after 270 years. The rituals began after the present head of Travancore royal family, Moolam Thirunal Rama Varma, offered prayers at the shrine. The grand consecration ceremony took place following the renovation work at the temple based on recommendations from a Supreme Court-appointed expert committee.
