165-yr-old brewery in Pakistan allowed to export alcohol after 50-year ban amid forex crisis

Murree Brewery, a 165-year-old brewery in Pakistan, received approval to export alcohol after a 50-year ban. This comes at a time when Pakistan is under pressure to boost foreign exchange earnings as its economy is on brink of collapse. Only 90 lakh people out of Pakistan's 24-crore population can purchase alcohol as it's allowed only for non-Muslim minorities and foreigners.
