Pak Army chief Munir, who went into hiding after Op Sindoor, promoted to Field Marshal rank

Pakistan Army chief Asim Munir has been promoted to rank of Field Marshal, according to Pakistan PMO's statement. Munir had reportedly gone into hiding for multiple hours after India launched Operation Sindoor and attacked several Pakistani airbases. He has been serving as 11th chief of Pakistan Army since 2022 and his tenure was extended to five years in November 2024.
