Pak hospital found reusing syringes after 331 kids contract HIV

A BBC investigation found unsafe injection practices at a government hospital in Pakistan's Punjab province months after at least 331 children in Taunsa tested positive for HIV. The probe documented syringes being reused on multiple occasions, staff injecting patients without sterile gloves, and used syringes being retrieved and prepared for reuse. The outbreak first came to light in 2024.
