Pak PM okays up to 30% salary cuts in state firms amid fuel crisis

Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday approved salary deductions of 5% to 30% for employees of state-owned enterprises and autonomous institutions. The decision was cleared at a review meeting on measures earlier announced to tackle the economic fallout of the fuel crisis triggered by the Middle East war. The savings will be used "only for public relief", a statement said.
