Pak reports 1st polio case in 15 months, PM to chair emergency meet

Pakistan's PM Shehbaz Sharif has said that he will chair an emergency meeting of the National Task Force for Polio Eradication after authorities detected the country's first case of the debilitating neurodegenerative disease in 15 months. The case was detected in a 15-month-old boy in Pakistan's North Waziristan, the health officials said. The boy has been paralyzed, they added.
