Pak SC upholds death penalty of man who beheaded his girlfriend

Pakistan's Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld the death penalty of a man who beheaded his girlfriend after the case sparked outrage from women's rights activists. The man, Zahir Jaffer, had attacked his girlfriend, Noor Mukadam, in his Islamabad residence after she refused his marriage proposal in 2021. Mukadam had attempted to escape multiple times but was caught by Jaffer's aides.
