Pak slaughtering hundreds of donkeys daily for its ally China
China’s growing demand for donkey meat/hides is driving new business in Pakistan. A slaughterhouse near Gwadar is processing hundreds of donkeys, with plans to raise slaughter to 800 a day. While donkey meat isn’t eaten locally due to religious beliefs, its hides are exported to China to make ejiao, traditional medicine ingredient made by boiling donkey skin to extract collagen.
