Pak unit, made to combat crime, accused of extrajudicial killings

Pakistani Punjab government's Crime Control Department (CCD), formed to combat crime, is facing allegations of systemic extrajudicial killings, intimidation of families, according to fact-finding report released by Human Rights Commission of Pakistan. Between April-December 2025 alone, at least 670 police encounters attributed to CCD were reported in Punjab, resulting in deaths of 924 suspects.
