Pakistan govt introduces bill to extend Army chief's tenure

Pakistan's government on Friday introduced legislation in the Parliament to extend the tenure of its Army chief. The legislation will validate the three-year extension given to Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa approved in August last year. Pakistan's Supreme Court had later struck down the extension, ordering the Imran Khan government and Army to produce legal provisions for the extension.
