Pakistani social activist Sabeen Mahmud was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Karachi on Friday night. Her mother, who was accompanying her at that time, also suffered bullet injuries and was admitted to a hospital in a critical condition. Mahmud was director of the human rights and a peace-focused nonprofit organisation 'The Second Floor' and had organised Pakistan's first hackathon.
