Pakistanis struggle to afford funerals amid soaring inflation
Amid soaring inflation, many Pakistanis are reportedly struggling to afford funeral expenses. Funeral costs have risen to between ₹50,000 and ₹1,00,000, driven by higher prices of camphor, incense, flower petals, grave digging and marble finishes. Many households are now borrowing from relatives or relying on charities for dignified funerals. Pakistan’s inflation stood at 11.1% in June 2026.
