Panama prepares to evacuate 1st island due to rising sea levels

The Central American nation of Panama is bracing to evacuate its first island and shift its residents to the mainland amid rising sea levels. About 300 families of Gardi Sugdub will be leaving the island. A study conducted by Panama's Environmental Ministry estimated that by 2050, Panama would lose about 2% of its coastal territory to increase in sea levels.
