Panama's former President arrested in United States

Former Panamanian President Ricardo Martinelli was arrested on Monday near Miami, United States. Panama had made an extradition request for Martinelli, who has been accused of illegally spying on over 150 political opponents. Panama's Supreme Court had ordered his arrest in 2015, but he claimed the allegations were politically motivated and left Panama days before a corruption probe was launched.
