Pangea Ultima may trigger mass extinction of mammals

In ~200 million years, Earth's continents will reunite into a supercontinent called Pangea Ultima. Temperatures could reach 40–70°C, with 90% of land becoming hot desert. High CO₂ from volcanic activity and an increasingly bright Sun will push Earth past mammals' thermal survival limit, potentially causing a mass extinction of all mammalian life.
