Parihaspora Archaeological Site: Kashmir's new heritage hub
The Jammu and Kashmir government is boosting Parihaspora Archaeological Site in Baramulla as a key heritage tourism destination. Known locally as ‘Kani Shahar,’ it was Kashmir’s capital from 695 to 731 AD under Lalitaditya Muktapida. The site, located 20 km northwest of Srinagar, is being promoted through videos, brochures, and travel exhibitions to attract visitors.
