Paris’ police chief said France’s student protest movement is now “out of control”. The movement, which began on September 17, has seen students block schools, set fires and clash with police. Students complained about overcrowded classrooms, poor building conditions, staff shortages and teacher absences. More than 5,000 people have been arrested during the protests since Monday.
