Parliament clears VB G Ram G Bill to replace MGNREGA, Opp'n stages overnight protest

Viksit Bharat- Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill, 2025 (VB G Ram G) was passed by the Rajya Sabha after the Lok Sabha cleared it on Thursday. The Upper House sat past-midnight to clear the legislation that replaces the MGNREGA employment guarantee scheme of UPA. Opposition parties staged a 12-hour dharna in Parliament to protest its passage.
