Parliament passes Bill to establish Assam's 1st IIM in Guwahati

Rajya Sabha on Wednesday passed the Indian Institutes of Management (Amendment) Bill, 2025, paving the way for the establishment of Assam’s first IIM in Guwahati and Northeast India's second after IIM Shillong. The bill was cleared by the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. "IIM Guwahati will admit students from this academic session," Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said.
