Parliamentary panel recommends 3-star hotel cap on hospital room rents in India

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare has recommended placing a cap on the rent hospitals charge for their rooms. It said that hospital room rents shouldn't exceed the average room tariffs prevailing in three-star hotels located in the hospitals' vicinity. The room rent will not include costs of resident doctors, nursing, consumables, meals and laundry.
