Part of Marine Drive promenade to extend into sea as MMRDA plans fresh land reclamation

A section of Mumbai's Marine Drive promenade will extend into the Arabian Sea, as MMRDA has proposed reclaiming 2,298 square metres of sea along a 300-metre stretch near Jawahar Bal Bhavan. The reclaimed land will compensate for the portion of the existing promenade lost to road widening. The expanded carriageway will accommodate traffic from the proposed Orange Gate-Marine Drive tunnel.
