Passenger vehicle sales fell 66% MoM in May amid COVID curbs: SIAM

The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) said that passenger vehicle sales fell 66.34% month-on-month (MoM) to 88,045 units in May amid rising COVID-19 cases and consequent curbs in India. This is in comparison with 2,61,633 units sold in April 2021 and 2,26,975 units sold in May 2019. India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki reported a 74.2% MoM drop in sales.
