Patient left blinded after doctor accidentally removed wrong eye in operation in Slovakia

A man was left blinded after a doctor removed the wrong eye during an operation at a major hospital in Slovakia. Apologising for the incident, a representative said, "The hospital has provided the patient and his family with full cooperation in mitigating the consequences, both medical [and] psychological." The doctor who performed the operation has been let go.
