Patrick Modiano Wins Nobel Prize in Literature

French novelist Patrick Modiano was Thursday awarded the 2014 Nobel Prize in literature for "the art of memory with which he has evoked the most ungraspable human destinies and uncovered the life-world of the occupation." Author of more than two dozen books, Modiano (69) is the 11th Literature laureate born in France. He published his first novel in 1968.
