Payment not done in Chinese yuan to let Indian tanker pass Strait of Hormuz: Govt

The fact-check unit of Ministry of External Affairs has rubbished reports claiming that payment was made in Chinese currency yuan, after which an Indian LPG tanker was allowed to pass Strait of Hormuz. "Please stay alert against such false, baseless claims and posts on social media," MEA said. EAM S Jaishankar earlier hailed diplomacy after Indian tankers passed the strait.
