PayPal to split into 3 units, make Venmo standalone business

PayPal on Wednesday announced it will make Venmo a standalone unit by reorganising its businesses into three operating units. The new segment will build out Venmo into a broader consumer financial services platform, PayPal said. The other two segments will bring together PayPal's consumer and merchant arms apart from its crypto division and Braintree business.
