Peace most important: India after Iran warns of revenge on US for Soleimani death

After a US airstrike in Baghdad killed Iranian Major-General Qassem Soleimani, India advocated for restraint and said it's vital that the situation doesn't escalate further. "Peace, stability and security in this region (are) of utmost importance to India," the External Affairs Ministry said. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned that a "harsh retaliation is waiting" for the US.
