Pejavara Mutt head Vishwesha Teertha Swami passes away at 88

Udupi's Pejavara Mutt head Vishwesha Teertha Swami passed away on Sunday at the age of 88 after he was hospitalised on December 20 due to breathing problems. He was the only seer to have ascended the 'Paryaya Peetha' five times since the system of transferring power between the eight mutts surrounding the Udupi Sri Krishna temple began in 1522.
