Pentagon signs deals with 7 firms to use AI for classified work, excludes Anthropic

US War Department has signed deals with seven companies to deploy their AI technology on its classified networks for lawful operational use. The initiative, which includes SpaceX, OpenAI, Google, NVIDIA, Reflection, Microsoft and Amazon Web Services, doesn't mention Anthropic. The startup is in a dispute with Pentagon over the extent to which the military could use its AI tools.
