Pentagon spent ₹2,300 crore on crabs, steak & furniture in a month: Report

US Department of Defense spent $93.4 billion on grants and contracts in September 2025, according to government spending watchdog Open The Books. This included around $250 million (roughly ₹2,300 crore) spent on furniture, king crabs, lobster tails and steak. The departments are reportedly required to use their annual budgets before the fiscal year ends or risk cuts the following year.
