Pentagon survey finds sexual assault in US military fell in 2025

A Pentagon survey found that sexual assault in US military declined in fiscal year 2025. The share of active-duty women reporting unwanted sexual contact fell from 6.8% in fiscal 2023 to 4.3% in fiscal 2025, while the rate among active-duty men dropped to 1% from 1.3%. Pentagon received 7,998 official sexual assault reports involving service members as victims or offenders.
