Pentagon unveils drone boat program to counter maritime threats

The Pentagon has launched the $300 million SWAP-USV Challenge to fast-track uncrewed surface vessels capable of deploying attack and surveillance drones. Led by the Defence Innovation Unit, the program offers $100 million in prizes and up to $200 million in procurement contracts to accelerate commercially ready autonomous maritime technologies.
