Pentagon warns of GPS interference from Ligado broadband network

US Defense Department said that a study revealed that Ligado Networks' planned nationwide mobile broadband network will interfere with military global positioning system (GPS) receivers. The Defense Department said the study is consistent with its view that "it is impractical to mitigate the impact of that interference". Ligado is preparing to operationalize its system as soon as next month.
