People 'surrender' critical thinking to AI, trust it even when it's wrong: Study

A University of Pennsylvania study found that people are increasingly trusting AI chatbots and accepting their answers without question, even when they are incorrect. Researchers called this "cognitive surrender", where users defer their own judgment to AI. In the study, participants accepted chatbot responses in 93% of cases when they were correct and nearly 80% when they were wrong.
