People burn giant effigies of demon Narakasura to celebrate Diwali in Goa

People in Goa celebrated Diwali by burning giant effigies of demon Narakasura in Panaji. Videos of the celebrations have surfaced on social media. The tradition symbolises Lord Krishna's victory over Narakasura and the triumph of good over evil. Grand processions were carried out at night, while effigies were burnt at daybreak.
