People buy air purifiers out of fear, but there's nothing in it: Union Minister Joshi

Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi criticised air purifier manufacturers for making false claims at an event commemorating World Standards Day. He said people buy air purifiers out of fear after looking at the AQI (air quality index) as air pollution increases. The minister said so many claims are made about these purifiers but there's nothing in them except a fan.
