The Election Commission of India, Wednesday, wrote to the Chief Secretary of Jharkhand, reminding that according to the Section 62(5) of the Representation of the People Act and the Conduct of Election Rules, people in preventive detention are allowed to cast their vote by post. The statement comes amid allegations that leaders are being detained by police ahead of elections.
