Personal data provided during census is fully confidential: Govt

Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India Mritunjay Kumar Narayan, speaking on the upcoming Census 2027 procedure, said personal data provided during the census is completely confidential. He said, "It cannot be shared under the RTI Act...cannot be used as evidence before a court...and individual data cannot be used by any authority." He added, "It's only used as tabulation purposes."
