Peru becomes 1st South American nation to adopt UPI technology

NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL) and the Central Reserve Bank of Peru have announced a partnership to deploy a UPI-like payments system in Peru. This makes Peru the first country in South America to adopt the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) technology. Many nations including Nepal, Sri Lanka and Mauritius have adopted UPI so far.
