Petrol & natural gas push wholesale inflation to near double digits in May

India's wholesale inflation has been pushed from 8.26% in April to 9.68% in May, nearing the double digit mark, as petroleum and natural gas wholesale prices jumped 61.5% YoY. Mineral oils, and manufacture of tobacco products, chemicals, basic metals and electrical equipment also contributed significantly to the rise in wholesale inflation.
