Petrol pumps to stop accepting UPI payments over ₹2,000 from Oct 15 in MP

Petrol pumps across Madhya Pradesh will stop accepting UPI transactions above ₹2,000 starting October 15, citing losses due to the newly imposed 0.4% merchant discount rate (MDR) on person-to-merchant payments. The decision was taken unanimously at a meeting of the MP Petrol Pump Association, which represents 4,700 dealers statewide. Notably, the MDR framework will come into effect on October 15.
