'Pharma Bro' Shkreli barred from drug industry for life, ordered to pay $64 mn

A US court has barred Vyera Pharmaceuticals Founder Martin Shkreli from the pharmaceutical industry for life. Nicknamed "Pharma Bro", Shkreli had hiked the price of the life-saving drug Daraprim, used to treat a parasitic infection called toxoplasmosis, by over 5,000% overnight in 2015. The court has also ordered him to pay $64.6 million in profits he earned from the scheme.
