Phase 1: criminal backgrounds of Lok Sabha candidates

The first phase of the 18th Lok Sabha elections 2024, is scheduled to begin on Friday, April 19. The first phase covering 102 parliamentary constituencies across 21 states & Union Territories. As per ADR's findings, 251 or 16% out of 1,618 candidates analysed have declared criminal cases against themselves and 14 candidates have declared cases where they have been convicted.
