Philippines raises age of sexual consent from 12 to 16

Philippines has raised age of sexual consent from 12 to 16, President Rodrigo Duterte's office said on Monday. Under new law, sexual activity between adult and person aged 16 or lower will be considered statutory rape. Exceptions will be made for couples aged over 13 if their age difference doesn't exceed three years and sex is proven to be consensual.
