Phone, laptop costs may rise as Qualcomm eyes double-digit price hike

Qualcomm has told customers it will raise its product prices by double-digit percentages for products shipped after September 1, Bloomberg News reported. The company cited rising supplier costs and mounting pressure from the smartphone market amid a memory chip shortage. The increase is expected to push up prices of upcoming flagship Android smartphones and Snapdragon-powered Windows laptops.
