Physical relationship in live-in presumed consensual, refusal to marry not rape: HC
The Chhattisgarh High Court observed that in a long-term live-in relationship, it can be presumed that both partners voluntarily entered into a physical relationship, fully aware of its consequences. It held that a man's subsequent refusal to marry doesn't, by itself, amount to rape in such circumstances. The court observed this while dismissing a woman's appeal against a man's acquittal.
